I miss you!

This week was Nick's first trip away from home for work and BOY do I miss him! Before I begin this post, I should tell you a few things about myself -

1. I love my husband and enjoy spending each day with him....

2. I get scared easily when home by myself in the evenings

3. I despise sleeping by myself in my house - in fact I haven't done it since I've been married!

4. I strongly dislike airplanes.

5. I am petrified, horrified, scared to death of storms.

6. The "T" word (ya know the one that describes funnel like clouds) makes me dizzy and makes me want to faint! ;(

7. When I have something to look forward to (in this case my husband returning home) I really begin to anticipate it and if plans change, I have a hard time dealing with it... :(

So- Nick left Monday morning....(I teared up as he pulled out of the driveway). Then I did okay - A. Lynn spent the night Monday night with us, then I left for Bear Lake with my bible study girls. We returned Wednesday night and I was anticipating Nick's return at 9:00pm. Here is where the story gets interesting...or depressing.... ;)

Nick's flight from Greensboro was delayed 2 hours...This caused him to miss his connection by like 5 minutes or less! Ugh! So here he is....stuck in the airport with no flights out the rest of the evening. And here I am...

1. Missing my husband

2. Home by myself at 8:30pm

3. Knowing that he won't be home by bedtime

4. In comes a storm.....with "T" watch....Oh! Wait! It has been upgraded to a WARNING!

YIKES! Let's just say the night did NOT go how I would have planned it!

All is well now, my mother-in-law spent the night with me and the "T" never arrived.

But - guess what time his flight is today!

5:00 PM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT!??!?!

*sigh* I suppose I'll be patient. At lease I'm not sitting in an airport for the next 7 hours!

I miss you honey ~ can't wait to see you tonight!

Ouch!

Our first outdoor injury...Jumping on the trampoline and bumped into each other.

Ouch!

(I couldn't resist posting this picture! They were trading ice packs back and forth b/c they both wanted the Thomas ice pack. They kept desperately telling each other, "I hope we get better soon!" LOL! )

Congratulations, Nick!

Congratulations to my handsome husband for completing and passing the FAP1 Interim Assessment (ha! Don't ask me what that all stands for, I just know he passed!) lol.... Sorry if it sounds like I am tooting his horn a little (b/c I am!), but I am just so proud of him! :))))

Now, you can send up a little prayer as he is taking the next one FAP1 Final Assessment (is that the right name?) in 2 weeks!

So - many people, (me included) are curious what he has done and what he has to go...So here is my attempt at answering that:

P - Probability (completed Fall '07)
FM - Financial Mathematics (completed Spring '08)
MFE - Models: Financial Economics (completed Fall '08)
MLC - Models: Life Contingencies (completed Spring '09)
C - Construction and Evaluation of Models (completed Fall '09)

The he completed some Modules (I think they are like projects)

IA - Interim Assessment (Completed Spring '10)
FA - Final Assessment (Taking this week)
APC - Actuarial Practice Course (Summer 2010)
ASA - Associate in Society of Actuaries (Summer 2010)
Then there is an essay he has to write...

Then there are these that I don't understand at all b/c they are a year away! :)
FETE - Fall 2010
APM - Spring 2011
FSA - Summer 2011 - This is the "Fellow in the Society of Actuaries" Which is what he has been striving for all along. This will be his "title" You'll see :

Nick Fiechter, F.S.A.

(Can't wait to see that! Then no more testing! :) WooHoo!)
(Not that he ever studies at home anyway! lol)

Ornery Mason #2

I don't get it. I REALLY don't get it. How can 2 children, products of the same 2 parents, be SO different?!?!?!?

Carter NEVER did/does things like this! I don't think it would have even crossed his mind! Ugh...

These are some of the events that have happened in the last 24 hours! I SAID HOURS! NOT DAYS!

1. Pouring (cheerfully) his shampoo all over the bath tub. (He wasn't even taking a bath!)

2. Climbing onto the counter and getting candy without asking.

3. Disappearing into my bathroom, climbing on the sink and drenching himself with hand soap.

4. Picking Adalynn up from her bouncy seat and dropping her on the floor!

5. Coloring on the coffee table.

6. Coloring on the CARPET!

7. Getting up from his nap w/o coming to tell me he was awake, AND getting into the CANDY CUPBOARD, AGAIN!

8. Putting screw drivers in the muffler pipe on Nick's car.

9. Announcing to me (as we are trying to potty train) "I'm pooping!" (in his diaper) quite proudly and cheerfully.

10. He looks at me, says "We don't like ants!" and stomps on the card full of ants and terro!

YIKES!!!!! HOW AM I SURVIVING??????????

Now, you may not believe me (and how could I blame you?) but I really do watch him carefully and check on him often. REALLY! He is just that sneaky and quick. AND - I discipline him! A LOT! Ugh....Could you pray for us...Please?!?!?!?! :)

Houseguest family #2

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Ant,

I'm sorry to inform you, but you are no longer welcome in our home. We'd like for you to leave. NOW! You may think we are being unhospitable, and well we are. Ask Mr. Skunk.

You see, we just really like our privacy and well....We'd just like to live here alone. With no creatures interrupting our peaceful life.

Now go away - and do NOT return next spring, either.

Sincerely,

A very grumpy Jessica

There ya have it, folks. We are dealing with intrusion #2. ANTS. 2 Different colonies. I want them all to leave! Can you blame me? Take a look....The first picture is in our bedroom. They are the tiniest little redish/brown ants. They have been feasting off of this Terro for like 6 days! The other pics are all in our dining room, just below Mason's chair (hmmm....wonder why!?!). They are your typical ant...I put this terro out about 1 hour before the picture was taken! They are so smart and so quick! (Well, not really so smart as they will be dead in a day! :) )

YUCK!
