Too Funny!

***Clarification***

I thought I better straighten this out before I get turned in to the child services!

Our trampoline is in our basement!

No, I did not leave a 2, 3, and 4 year old outside to sleep all night by themselves! :)

I laughed out loud when I talked to several different people who thought we let the boys sleep outside! :)

Another quick funny story -

My conversation with Nick's 7 year old cousin:

G: "Man, Jessica! You're gonna have a baby soon!"

(As his bulging eyes stare at my bulging belly!)

Me: "Yep, I sure am and I can't wait!"

G: *slight groan* "That's reaaaallllyyyy gonna hurt!!!!!"

Me: *shock* followed by lots of laughter!!!!!

Slumber Party

Last weekend, we had a slumber party with one of Carter's best friends!

We had tons of fun - but I only took one picture! I guess even just one picture is worth posting!

Nick (the coolest dad ever, in C & M's opinion, mine too :) ) built a fort on top of the trampoline out of couch cushions and blankets for the boys to sleep in. After he left them and came upstairs we listed on the monitor to them talking. After a while, Kaden and Mason seemed to be getting scared, so Carter comforted them. It was soooooooo stinking adorable! Carter kept saying, "It's okay - don't be scared - God is with us!" Then he'd sing every song he knows including some made up ones! I was so proud! :)

Before church on Sunday

Jen and I had planned out that we would take Kaden home on Sunday morning so that he could go to church with his own mom and dad. BUT, at the breakfast table, it was mentioned that we have doughnuts and cookies for lunch at our church...

Kaden looked at me and said, "Sometimes we have doughnuts at our church too, but not all the time....I wanna come to your church today!!!!!"

LOL! So - we made the call and got permission for him to come to church with us.

C & M were THRILLED!

Who doesn't love a good, clean joke??

That is pointed at her husband?!? Hehe...I'm feeling a bit ornry!

These jokes were sent to Nick by one of his friends and I couldn't resist posting them!

Three men are sentenced to die by guillotine. The first man steps up, places his head in the hole, the executioner release the knife, and miraculously the knife stops inches above the man's neck. The king says, "Under the laws of our country, if the guillotine fails to do its job, you are declared free." So the first man gets up, relieved, and the second man takes his place. Again, the guillotine knife stops inches away from the man's neck. The king says again, "Under the laws of our country, if the guillotine fails to do its job, you are declared free." So the second man gets up, free. The third man, who is an actuary, puts his head in the guillotine hole, looks up, and says, "I think I see what the problem is ... "

Two actuaries are duck hunting. They see a duck in the air and they both shoot. The first actuary's shot is 20 feet wide to the left. The second actuary's shot is 20 feet wide to the right. The actuaries give each other high fives, because on average they shot it. What did God say when he created Actuaries? He scratched his head and said, "Go figure!" They took it literally... A patient was at her doctor's office after undergoing a complete physical exam. The doctor said, "I have some very grave news for you. You only have six months to live." These actuaries knew their jokes so well that they assigned numbers to them. In order to save time, instead of telling the joke they would just shout out the number. "387" shouted out one actuary. The others all laughed loudly in approval of the joke. "834 shouted another of the actuaries. The others laughed mildly at this one. "1,023" shouted another of the actuaries. Most of the others laughed mildly at this one. There was one young actuary in the group who was rolling on the floor and laughing hysterically at that joke. The actuary who shouted out "1,023" settled the young actuary who had been rolling on the floor and then asked him "What is it about joke 1,023 that is so funny?" "I never heard that one before", replied the young actuary. :) hehe...Love you honey!

I just realized I never posted this!!!! WHAT?!?!?!? I can't believe it!

My sweet little nephew was born January 29th, 2010. He is so precious! I 've had the pleasure of babysitting him a couple times and he is quite a calm, peaceful baby.

Uhh...Not really sure why there are no pictures of mama holding him - the second to last pic is Jackie holding him, but somehow she got cut out! Sorry, sis! Or, if you are like me, maybe you are thankful! ;)

I'm so proud of my sister and her husband (Jackie and Travis, for those of you who don't know them). They are wonderful parents to their little boy! I always knew they would be but it has been wonderful witnessing the loving Christian home they are going to raise their "lil man" in!

Last Minute Family Pictures

As I looked through Adalynn's baby book, I realized there was a slot for a "family picture before I arrived". I thought, "Oh, I'll find an old one quick..."

So I began searching.....

And searching.....

Um...the latest one I found was our christmas picture from 2008!!!! In 2009, we used a picture of Nick and I, Nick and the boys, and Me and the boys. NO whole family picture! EEEEEK!!!!

So tonight - it was time to take a family picture. Fabulous timing - I am 9 months preggo and really swollen!

Oh well - the "family picture before I arrived" will now be filled with this...

There is also a slot for a picture of the siblings ~ so we captured this cute picture.

And this was just for fun!

Easter Weekend

Here is our Easter weekend in pictures. I didn't get pictures at every event, but these are just a few...

The Cookware Saga

Remember when I asked for opinions on cookware? If not click here. Well, although several of you suggested that we get the Pampered Chef cookware - I didn't listen. We got Caelphlon Contemporary Stainless Steel with nonstick surface.

Wellll.................after using them for a mere 2 months THE NONSTICK FLAKED OFF! What am I doing wrong????

I called the store we bought them and they are going to give us our money back. Whew! But now what? Well- I learned my lesson - I'm listening to you all now.

We are buying the Pampered Chef pans. In order to get them cheaper, I am having a catalog party. I hate to do this especially because I just had a party a year ago, but it will save us mega bucks!

So - if you have been needing a certain item or two - give me a call. I like announcing this on my blog because there is no obligation! I won't even know if you read the post or not. :-)

Days 2- 7 of our D.C. trip

Day 2:

We visited the Gettysburg museum and battlefield. These were both very interesting. Nick loved this part of the trip. He hasn't stopped talking about his fascination with the different fences they had on the battlefield. But...we actually forgot to take pictures of them!

We then moved on to Hershey World. This was fun. We got to take a ride through the "factory" (it was simulated) which was very cool to see.

This one is for you, Mason!

Mason LOVES chocolate milk. When I saw these huge chocolate syrup bottles I knew I had to get him one. Then I saw the $15.00 price tag and decided a picture of it would do!

Last, we drove by the Lincoln Financial Headquarters (which is the company Nick works for). It was cool for Nick to get a mental picture of the building that many of the people he communicates with throughout the week work in.

After this, we travelled to Lancaster, PA where we were blessed tremendously to watch the play/musical called Joseph at the Sight & Sound Theater. WOW.

Go see it. Seriously.

Day 3 & 4:

Well, we don't have ANY pictures from these days but we had great fun. We stayed with a loving hospitable church family, toured Lancaster county, shopped at 2 candy stores, visited the old home of Nick's aunt and uncle including some of their great friends, had a wonderful dinner with the church family and some of Nick's extended family that now live out there, toured a life size replica of the Tabernacle, attended one of our churches in Philadelphia, P.A., sang at a nursing home to some of the sweetest elderly ever, and visited the Liberty Bell in Philly.

Day 5: In pictures...I'm tired of typing which means you're probably realllllllly tired of reading!

First experience on the metro...yes we were a bit nervous...

Nick became very obsessed with taking the"perfect" picture...Of course they all included the absolute worst view of me possible...LOL...

Day 6: Also in D.C.

Okay so have you ever seen one of these??? They are men (in our case an 18 year old boy on spring break) who pull people around for a living! So fun! We hired a kid to take us about 10 blocks.

About half way through, Nick was feeling really sorry for the poor kid so this converstaion followed:

Nick: "Hey, could I peddle for awhile?"

Kid: Quite surprised, "Um...okay, sure."(he stops, jumps off and then asks, "Um...should I just run beside you?"

Nick: "What?!? NO way - get on there!"

So - the kid sits beside me in the carraige and Nick peddles his heart out! The boy kept saying things like, "Wow...I've never ridden in the back of one of these." "This is weird, why would you want to do this?"

Nick kept saying things like, "Man! this is harder than I thought!" and "You've got to be exhausted!"

Of course, I sat quietly and enjoyed my relaxing (and humorous) ride!

After our tour of the capital...

All in all, we had a great time, but were thankful to make it home safely to our children! Thanks a ton to those of you who prayed for us!

Day 1 : Somerset, PA & Gettysburg, PA

After a 6 1/2 hour drive we arrived in Somerset, PA.

This is the site where Flight 93 crashed into a Pennsylvania field. The following is a picture of the crash site. You would never know anything crashed there as the "crater" has been filled in.

Wow...quite touching and sad. Thinking about the families of the victims - it was especially sad when the woman giving the speech would explain the families left behind. One girl left behind 2 small boys. Another man left behind 2 small boys (ages 2 &4) and a pregnant wife - pregnant with a baby girl....ummmmm......sound familiar? It really helped me think about their circumstances. I think I'll be praying for those families more now. Although the crash was almost 9 years ago - I'm sure the pain is as great as if it happened yesterday.

So we left Somerset and umm.....we were on some EXTREMELY curvy roads with reallllllly steeeeeeep drop offs. Yeah they all teased that maybe I only have 5 hours until Adelynn's birth vs. 5 weeks! I have a good picture of this too...

Then we visited the Gettysburg battlefield. I climbed to the top of a tower similar to the state park tower. If you know me very well at all - this was quite impressive! :) I do NOT like heights and I am 8 months preggo! I survived but not without some sore muscles! ;)
