I'm nervous.
I'm scared.
I'm petrified!
Help me! Okay, so my lesson is on Thursday. I am not really uncomfortable with the kids, but I just hate to talk in front of a lot of people. I am mostly nervous b/c I just don't feel like I have any good ideas on something fun for the kids. I don't want "just another lesson".
So I am calling out for any help I can get! I have 5th graders and my lesson is to cover the Betrayal and Trials of Jesus. Any ideas? I have a few little ideas like maybe to write out on notecards some scenarios that the kids might run into where they feel betrayed and ask them what they would do. Then what Jesus would do...
Anyone have a really good story I can tell?????
If you have no ideas, you can at least pray for me! ;) Thanks!

Jess, I know exactly how you feel! I am teaching Bible school in Leo this year, and my lesson is coming up on Wednesday! And I am sort of nervous, too. My problem is insecurity--i don't feel creative, no good ideas, etc. I guess the difference between us is that you are teaching 5th graders and I am teaching 3 and 4 year olds:) Quite a difference there! Sigh. I will for sure pray for you. And if I can think of any bright ideas I'll let you know, but for now I will just pray:) I am a little dry in the idea department! Love you!
Hey Jessica-love your new background! I keep forgetting to tell you. Why don't you do a skit with the teachers? I guess I am offering my awesome acting skills (ha ha). They also really get into the game thing!! I am sure it will be great! Don't stress about it too much the time goes faster than you think! Let me know if I can help. Ladan is really having a great time with Carter in Kiddie Bible School. Let's hope that 5th grade has another great day! Praying for your lesson! julie :)
I've been praying for you!! I wrote it on my calendar when I talked to you last week. Sorry I'm sooooo uncreative when it comes to fun ideas!!
Hey Jess,
I like your idea about notecards with sceneraios on them. Like Your best friend didn't stick up for you when others made fun of you, Or how sometimes we look at things and feel betrayed when the other person has no idea how we feel because they are just thoughtless. Hurt feelings can happen a lot in 5th grade. What a neat opportunity though to be able to show how Jesus was betrayed and still loved his diciples, his followers and all the people that were going to betray him yet he still gave his life for all of us betrayers. You could even ask the kids how do we betray Jesus today... Some probably won't even realize that even today we are still betraying Jesus yet he still loves us.How do they feel when they are betrayed? Would they willing to do something nice for their betrayer? Wow! this got sorta of lengthy. I'll be praying for you. Don't worry you will do great! When I did lessons I would just talk to the kids like a would my friends because that really is what they are a whole group of new friends that you have made in just a short time and that is a whole lot less intimidating. :)So relax and enjoy the morning with your friends!
In Him,
Susie
i don't have any ideas, but i'll be praying for you!
