"I wanna play too!"

Time to play!!!
Alone!!!!!! (says Carter)

He loves his big brother...but big brother sometimes needs time to himself... :( But he'll wait...

And....Wait...
Ahhh...Finally....Best buds!

Believe it or not, I'll treasure even these moments! I am so blessed to have two sweet little boys who play so well together...most of the time!

Potluck

Last weekend, we hosted potluck here at our house with Brad & Sonya and Braden & Adrianne. It was great to use our basement for the first official time. Although many of the finishing touches aren't done (and may not be for a while...), I think it was an enjoyable space. We had a great time ~ sure hope everyone else did too!

Our menu:
  • Chicken Cordon Bleu
  • wild rice dish from DD4
  • lettuce salad
  • green bean casserole
  • baked pears
  • bread/butter
  • oreo dessert/Maple pumpkin cheesecake
  • In the evening, we enjoyed hot wassail/pop and a salty snack mix

Basement Update #4

So...I totally missed updating you all on a whole step! We got the walls mudded and finished and then got busy painting, painting, painting! Whew! Glad that part is over! Nick did a fantastic job painting the doors and trim and Steve did great hanging it all!

This will be the play room! The boys can hardly wait!

Here is the living room - our built in entertainment center/fireplace is coming soon!

Again, the living room..In the back from the corner to the wall will be where the entertainment/fireplace will go...does that make sense?

This is the bedroom...Not much to look at....Just walls!!

AND....Some great news! As I am typing the men from CJ's flooring are here laying carpet! To say I am super-de-duper excited is quite an understatement!

More to come...

What have I been up to??

Well, remember that last post, ya know the one about me expecting a baby? Yeah...well - that explains where I've been...

in my bed...

on the couch...

by the toilet...

As for the boys...they think this new lifestyle is cool...this is where they've spent their time...

So, I really have been extremely tired, and quite nauseous and gaggy but there have been good times too. (and the boys aren't always watching TV...) I should also note that I don't mean to complain about these symptoms. I am so grateful and thankful that God is entrusting us with another miracle and blessing.

After a can of pop (occasionally) and a slice of toast, I'm able to do fun things like these:

riding in the combine w/ Uncle Chase

This was on our way out to the combine...I had to include it - such sweeties!

Rejoicing with our friends M&J and welcoming their sweet little one, Finn into the world!

Working on the "football field"

baking pie for the chicken BBQ (with lots of help from Carter)

Enjoying a refreshing retreat away with some ladies!

Street fair in the rain w/ buddy Kaden

Through all of my sickness - this man has been there for me and the kiddos! Thanks for taking care of us, honey! You are the best daddy and hubby ever! Thanking God for you! Much love!

I know this is an overload of pictures...but who knows when I'll update again!

It's Official!

We're having another baby! We were a little unsure of the due date at first, but I just had an ultrasound to determine the due date and it looks like I am right around a due date of May10th.

We are very excited (although this was a surprise!) and we feel blessed that God is trusting us with another precious miracle! We'd sure appreciate your prayers for a healthy pregnancy and baby!

And one more thing.................THINK PINK! (of course we'd love another boy too!)

Fort Wayne Outing

Last week, Gma Fiechter, Lynn, Joni, Kinzie, the boys, and I took a small trip to Ft. Wayne for the night! We had such a great time strengthening relationships and bonding! If anyone is interested in staying overnight in the Fort, priceline a 3 1/2 downtown! We got the Hilton for $55 !!!

First we went shopping - isn't this soooo cute? Kinz fits just perfect in the basket!

I was having a blast walking around w/ Mason and Kinzie. They just love each other!

Fun times making memories in the pool!

Here's my boys on their favorite ride ever - the swivel chair

Breakfast in the morning - sitting on the windowsill.

Although we loved the Hilton and it was VERY nice. We opted for a cheap McDonald's breakfast vs. the $18 per person buffet at the hotel!!!! YIKES!!

Okay, Fiechter ladies, where to next?? Chicago? Indy? Florida? ;)

Pokagan State Park: Camping Trip 2009

For the last 3 years, we have been going on a camping trip with other couples. It has really been a great time to strengthen relationships for us as adults, and also for our children. This year, the group consisted of Erin & Joel, Andy & Jenna, Blare & Janel, Grayson & Tara, and us. (If you're counting - that's 10 adults and 11 children!!! AHHHH!!)

Once again, we had a fabulous time! (minus the spider bites on Nick's feet, Jessica's sudden headache and 2 boys with diarrhea.) We enjoyed lots of yummy campfire food, a hayride, about 30 minutes at the beach (before it rained), more food, a pony ride, food, bike rides, s'mores, HUGE fires (thanks to Nick, Joel, and Andy), a little outlet shopping, more food, ladder golf, and just plain good talks!

Thanks again for organizing this trip, Blare and Janel!

Enjoy the pics!

An attempt at a group pic....

The 2 "big boys". They had such a good time together!

Carter and "his girls"

Mason and I

Again, Carter and the girls....where's Brett?

The "little kid" wagon - so cute! How many children can fit in a wagon? Ask Nick or Andy - they should know!

Here's all the kids "planting their seeds"...Thanks for keeping them occupied, honey!

Oops, this isn't the camping trip. This was August's playgroup. SO fun!

Looking forward to Camping Trip 2010!! Maybe Group Camp?? We'll see!

State Fair

A couple of Fridays ago (I know...a little late posting on this...o well) We decided to visit the State Fair in Indianapolis. Grandma Fiechter, Lynn, Darla, Jalen, Gabe, me, Carter, and Mason all went. (Joni & Kinzie couldn't make it b/c of a shower in Ohio, and Kara had to work) We went (partly) to watch Chase's girlfriend, Lindsey compete in the horse show. We had a great time!

Lindsey getting ready for the first round!

Mason enjoying his first ever state fair hot dog! (Yuck!)

After we stayed at the State fair for most of the day, we went over to our hotel, The Renassaince Inn. It was a gorgeous hotel, (purchased at priceline.com - highly recommmended).

We ordered pizza in and ate it in the lobby at this super cool table. Our entertainment for the night was a Pakistani wedding going on the the next room. So interesting to see their attire and how cultural the wedding was even though the are living in America. We were down there for at least an hour and many, many, many guests had arrived and the groom was already mingling with them but the bride had not yet arrived...strange, huh?

After indulging in our Monical's pizza (yum!) We got suited up to swim!

This is the face I'd get when I asked Mason to smile...argh....

Gabe and Carter

This is what Mason wanted in the morning...not mommy, not Lynn, or Gma...Just Car-Car ;)

This is Lynn on her favorite couch. Brad - you should buy her one! Especially with the polka dot pillows! :)

We had such a wonderful time together. God blessed me enormously with such a loving, caring, helpful, and fun family-in-law!

(I'm going to be catching up here on our many outings from the end of this summer...stay tuned!)
